Dilwyn Evans is the fourth generation of his family to farm at Tŷ Nant. He, wife Marion and sons Rhydian and Elgan look after more than 1500 acres of pasture that extend high into the hills above Afon Cyneiniog the river that flows past their farmstead below.
They have a flock of 1800 breeding ewes, mostly Welsh Mountain but also some Suffolk and Romney crosses. Much of the lamb produced from the former goes into the Cambrian Mountains Scheme.
They also have a herd of 60 Welsh Black suckler cows, and are well known locally for producing a range of poultry for the Christmas market.
